We are seeking mid- and senior-level applicants with a strong
Physical Science and/or Applied Math background to work in the
areas of
Radar and SAR Exploitation.
at Arete, you will be responsible for conducting research and
developing activities focused on passive and active RF sensor
technology exploitation that address the challenging mission
requirements and emerging needs of our IC and DoD customers, both
for existing systems and systems under development. Developing
algorithm and concept design for ground-based, shipboard, airborne,
and space-based RF systems. Duties include developing novel
solutions, significant enhancements, and efficient implementations
of signal processing algorithms for challenging mission
applications, with initial focus on SAR systems. Researching,
designing, and implementing advanced signal processing and RF
system concepts that yield new capabilities addressing urgent
customer needs. Implementing prototype solutions in software,
utilizing the latest data exploitation techniques (including
machine learning techniques). Developing simulations and
performance models that enable trade studies for radar systems.
Technically supporting radar initiatives in multiple Business Areas
across the company. Interfacing with and briefing technical
solutions to customers and large peer groups. Travelling as
necessary to support customer requirements. This position is based
in our
Northridge, CA office . This is an exempt, non-supervisory,
full-time position.

Experiences and Background We Look For:Qualified candidate will
have completed a PhD degree program in physics, mathematics, or a
related field, or will have a BS or MS with several years of
relevant experience.Radar systems development experience including
signal and image processing, detection/estimation theory, algorithm
development, software development, data analysis and modeling and
simulation.Experience programming in Python, MATLAB, C, C++, or
similar language
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small
teams
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security
clearance
Nice to have:
Experience with SAR image formation, algorithms and exploitation
concepts
Experience developing novel waveforms and associated signal
processing algorithms
Experience with automatic target recognition technologies
Familiarity with embedded processing (e.g. FPGA or CPU/GPU
implementations)
Familiarity with formal software development processes and cloud
computing paradigms
Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning
Technical direction and/or program management
Active Top Secret/SCI security clearanceThe salary range for this
role is $120,000 to $165,000; however, Arete considers several
factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not
limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a
candidate's work experience, education/training, and key
skills.Other Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.
Selected applicants will be subject to a government security
investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to
classified information.Successful passage of a criminal background
